Survival Tips in Wildlife- How Can You Find Food in The Jungle?

When you are in the jungle, you are close to nature and wildlife. You get the unique opportunity to live with wild animals. The experience of exploring the jungle and being close to wildlife is a unique one. It teaches you the value of life and basic survival skills that a city will never be able to teach you.

The importance of food and water

When you are in the jungle, you need sufficient food and water to survive. You may think that food is easily available in the jungle as you can hunt for it with the weapons you have. Wildlife experts differ by saying you should never waste your energy or time hunting for food. They advise you to fish for your food and instead of hunting them down with weapons, you can create traps for wild animals.

Here, you should be aware of the animal trails in the jungle. The spot where you will set the trap should be a trail where the animal frequents a lot. For example, you can use effective deer attractants in case you unexpectedly find a deer trail on your way.

Fishing in the jungle is easy

Fishing in the jungle is easy and saves you time. However, when you are fishing near water sources, ensure that you stand on a high rock or else you will scare the fish away. Remember to cook the fish and never eat it raw.

Book chronicle and summary of “Deep Survival”:

Like food, you need clean and fresh sources of drinking water for survival in the jungle. You will find animals like wild horses coming to the same water source regularly. These horses are not like the trained racing horses you see on TVG. These horses are nurtured in the wild, and they roam freely. Like them, other wild animals visit the same water sources. Follow them and collect water from fresh streams. Store this water in water bottles so that you will not fall short of them.

Beware of mushrooms- some of them may be poisonous

When you are in the jungle, beware of poisonous mushrooms. Do not consume them. It is prudent to be aware of the different plants and mushrooms before you come to the jungle. Do not touch plants with bare hands as they may prick or even sting you if you are not careful. Carry insect repellants with you all the time. Mosquitoes can be a nuisance. Cover your head and make sure that if you carry food, keep it sealed in containers. The smell of cooked food might invite unwanted wild animals on your trail.

Speak to experts before you venture into the jungle

Before you come into the jungle, you must ensure you speak to experts. Have sufficient food and water for survival. It is crucial for you to always remain hydrated at all times. Cook your food and always wash your utensils.

Be careful of trails you do not know. Move with your group all the time. In case of dangers, you can be there for each other. The jungle is full of adventure, but it is prudent to be safe and alert round-the-clock!
